The Python Brochure

The Python Brochure is a vast collection of case studies and success stories revolving around Python, the grandfather of today’s mainstream coding languages.

One of the sub categories spoke about Meteorologists using both the web-based system ‘ForecastWatch’ and Python in order to help determine the accuracy of their forecasts when compared to the weather that actually took place. The system, written entirely in Python, collects numerous forecasts from companies and then compares them with around 1200 real observations from around the world. The code also allows its users to see numerous categories of aggregated data which can be filtered from a nationwide summary, down to local forecasts.

Another of the sub categories speaks about how the widely used Firefox web browser and Thunderbird email client, along with support, add-on and crash reporting systems are largely based around python. It goes onto making a comparison, stating that things which would take around an average of 20 lines of code in C and seven in Java can be done in Python within just one line, making it far more time efficient.

Has another sub category tells us, the multi-billion company Google had risen to its position as a market-leading online information provider with the help of Python. Since Google uses Python, Google’s very own YouTube does so too.
