Light contains all colours, each and every colour is a different wave.


Additive colour mixture:

Addition of all colours = white


Subtractive colour mixture:

Subtraction of all colours = purity

Hue = Pigment or the actual light wavelength perceived.

Chroma = The intensity or saturation of hue.

Value = Amount go black and white (darkness/gryscale).


Tints = Mixture of HUE with white.

Shades = Mixture of HUE with black (grey).

Complementary Colours - They are colours which appear opposite each other when viewing their places in the colour wheel.


Analogous Colours - They are colours which appear near adjacent to each other when viewing them on the colour wheel.



Triad Colours - Three colours equally distant from each other (much like the 3 vertices on a triangle).
